Mothers Day.

I find joy in the simplest tasks...
pig tails never fail to make me smile.

Being a mother comes with many sacrifices
somedays it's hard to see past the things that you have given up
but when your little girl wraps her arms around your neck
pats your back
and says "hi"
those sacrifices seem to disappear
and the real reasons you love being a mother become very clear.

My Mother's Day was spent without Joe
but he made up for it by sending me on a three day long scavenger hunt
late last night I FINALLY found my surprise...
an 80 minute massage, how did he know?!?
Genevieve and I spent the day together, as it should be on Mother's Day
and we helped celebrate this day with my mom and dad
there was a small visit with Great Grandma Hardy
Some very yummy food
and naps....
what more could I ask for, besides Joe.

I sometimes struggle finding the joy in motherhood
and it is hard to look past the piles of laundry, runny noses, tantrums and endless messes
but really motherhood was the reason I was put here on this Earth
and my children will be my legacy.

Happy Mother's Day
xoxo

Sounds like you had a lovely Mother's Day! Isn't being a mom the best job in the world? There's not a job I'd trade it for.

I love how you write. Each post is descriptive and has strong voice in it. I love the edit on this pics. Did you use an action? Where did you get it?
