i'm a yankee doodle dandy

as tradition goes we spent the evening of July 3 at my parents house
surrounded by family, hamburgers, illegal fireworks, mesquitos
and North Salt Lake's fireworks
this year however, it was different for Joe and I...
it was the first year that we got to share one of our favorite holidays with genevieve.
she was a part of the excitement and saw her very first fireworks display.
pjs, bottle and all.

there were no tears, just a few concerned looks now and then
and some snuggles and yawns.

Monday we headed to Layton to share my love for parades with Genevieve
there is nothing better than marching bands, bag pipes, candy raining down and sirens.

she wasn't as thrilled as I was.
more or less tired from the night before

but daddy knew how to show her a good time

yes a bit of a dork and always wearing her sun hat.

i am so proud to be an american.
i am so thankful i can raise my children in a country
where i am free to share my beliefs with them
and where they are free to be and do whatever makes them happy.

Lovely pictures. Looks like you guys had a fun holiday with plenty of celebrating. Isn't every holiday more fun with kids? I find myself getting more excited for every holiday than I did when I was a kid. I too love her sun hat!

Looks like you had an awesome 4th of July! And your sweet baby girl is so beautiful (just like her mommy)! I miss the N.S.L fireworks every year so it was fun to see your pictures.
