An ode to Beauty....

What women go through in the name of beauty (I guess, what I go through in the name of beauty). So here it is, my new venture. I did permanent eye liner today. But before you judge here are some facts: #1: No, it is not permanent permanent. It is basically temporary. You must revisit the technician annually to have it reapplied, if not your skin will eventually just slough all of it off. #2: No, the person I went to did NOT use a machine like the ones a tattoo artist uses (Yikes, those are scary, dangerous, beware), instead she used a tool that has 4 tiny needles and she opens the skin over and over with it. #3: It is not a big ugly line that looks like I just got stamped with makeup. She used chocolate brown in my eye lash line so it looks natural and for blonds like me its amazing to actually see the definition of my eye. #4: No, it does not hurt horribly. It is uncomfortable but she uses topical anesthetic throughout the procedure so it basically feels like 2 hours of someone lightly tugging on your eye lashes. Its much more annoying than anything. So, there you have it, I guess if you really wanted to know. Maybe this was one of my "too much information" moments but when have you known me to be closed mouthed about anything? I was bummed I didn't get a before and after picture but here is a picture (not of me) of the procedure. I am so excited, now when I swim and go to Hawaii I won't have to worry one second about makeup. It was a great Christmas gift from Joe this year! The gift of being makeup free...

I did this too! I love it, but I hated how swollen my poor eyes got. Thanks for reminding me... I need to re-apply. :)
