Practicing My Mom Skills

We sure had a crazy and fun weekend. Joe and I watched 4 kids I used to nanny for regularly for the weekend. We were in charge of ski lessons on Saturday and church on Sunday (we actually got there on time).
Saturday ski lessons I was in charge of getting all 4 kids out the door dressed and ready to go.... Joe on the other hand was responsible for the bags which contained all of their ski gear. Well I didn't forget the kids but Joe did end up forgetting the bag with all of the helmets, gloves and goggles. We got to Deer Valley and much to both of our surprise when the gloves and helmets were to go on there wasn't any to be found. Let me tell you the whirl wind that happened after that. I was trying to carry kids on my hips, skis and poles in my hands while beads of sweat rolled down my face. Joe and I raced around the lodge trying to find helmets to rent and new gloves to buy. I have to say my arms are sore, I am just not fit enough to be a full fledge mom yet. I will take it one step at a time and only for a couple weekends a year. It was unbelievable, the most crazy thing Joe and I have experienced thus far but I was sure proud of those kids. Each one was well behaved, patient and so helpful. While Joe and I almost passed out. In the end with a lot of team work, patience and persistence the kids made it up the mountain warm and ready to go for their last day of ski school. Joe and I fell into the car happy that we only had the youngest one (who is 3) to look after for the next few hours. After a quick rest in the car we headed for the Park City outlet malls for shopping. Watching Janie while shopping was a treat. Let me tell you that little girl won our hearts. Jane was so darn cute, I think Joe was in love. Janie's long bright blonde hair and big brown eyes and cute smile made Joe and I hungry for a family.... that is until we got all 4 of them together again hehehe.
Anways, we had a blast taking pictures and playing in the snow. We only hope that the next time we get to play with the kids is sooner than later. That is after we recover. *wink, wink*
