Letters to Finley.

one month

My little fin.

I really can't capture the sweetness of your spirit on camera, I sure wish I could. You really are a hundred times cuter in person.  I'm awed daily by the gentleness of your soul. We spend a lot of time lying in bed together as I watch the daylight through the windows reflect in your ocean colored eyes.  Sometimes you smile in your sleep and I'm certain the bursting of my heart is audible to anyone close by.  I love to whisper in your ear that I love you and tell you all the ways we belong to one another and hope that I am a part of whatever is making you smile in your dreams... dad says he would smile too if he were dreaming of boobs.
Just as quickly as you were pushed into this world and placed on my chest you have moved into our lives and hearts.  It is amazing to watch your older sister immediately fall in love with you, no explanations asked, you were hers from the moment we introduced you two. We all have fallen in love with you, your cinnamon colored hair, blue eyes, sweet, pouty lips and horse, deep little boy cry. A piece of my heart was missing until you arrived.  I never thought it would be possible to love anyone as much and fully as I love your sister but my loved doubled the day you were born.

I love you my sweet boy.

So beautiful. I wish I could express the joy of motherhood so clearly. Beautiful.
