just a little preview of what is to come
of little boy's room.
and really pictures just don't do it justice
it's such a narrow room it is hard to get
a good picture at any angle.
there is still lots to be done
quilts to make
closets to stalk
but we are getting more
and more excited to meet him each day.
first letter to little boy.
***
little boy,
this is my first letter to you and quite unfamiliar to me as I venture into a new realm of gender. It was quite easy thinking of words to write to your sister. While I typed I imagined her reading each letter carefully as she struggled through her own journey of being a new mother. However, with a son comes many different thoughts and feelings from my mama heart.
You are such a magical, new thing in my life. Although, some parts of you feel familiar to me already. Your movements and kicks and the rounding of my belly. But there are parts of our journey together that are distinctly yours. Time spent imagining your face. Trying different boy names out on my tongue. Collecting little boy toys, blue hats, and plaid pants for you. Each day I am feeling my way through uncharted territory of having a son.
I am in awe by how much your presence has shifted and shaped our family in only 5 months time. We are making room for you in every part of our home and hearts. We await you newness. Anticipate your familiarity. And Can not wait for you to arrive.
