Family Home Evening

Dear Genevieve,

We just accomplished your first family home evening (without sending you to your room or so daddy says).  It was spiritual, sweet, tender, indeed short and quite perfect.  Family home evening has never been a priority to daddy and me until you came along.  Our New Years resolution was to start family home evenings. 
Sitting together as a family as we sang our nursery songs and showed you pictures of Jesus was something I had imagined clear back to when I was a little girl, a dream I never thought would come true.  Butterflies fluttered in my stomach as we pointed to pictures of Jesus as you proudly repeated his name (something between "j.c" and "please"). 

I hope I can give you many years of spiritual, tender and lets face it sometimes roudy family home evenings.  A habit I hope you will pass onto your children and they will pass onto their children and so the cycle begins right here tonight with daddy and me.
