5 Months

Dear genevieve,
      You started out an Evie but as time has passed you have incompassed everything that the name Genevieve stands for: "woman of the people." You are radiant, sweet, caring, strong willed, exhuburant and at our house we loving call you the "ambassador to smiles."  You are a friend to everyone and go out of your way to smile at those who pass you.  Your ever so small spirit can light up a room like the sun and your smile can bring happiness even to the saddest of hearts.  However small you maybe, or how inadequate I may feel I know one thing for sure, there is no doubt in my mind... you are here for a very specific purpose.

each month is bittersweet as we have to say goodbye to many things that made you small and hello to others that make you grow

We have said goodbye to:
10:00pm feedings
most 3 month clothes
the cradle
sleeping in your swing for naps
5 ounce bottles
grammie and grandad's house
a very bald head
just plain old formla
no stranger danger

and hello to:
 8:00 bedtime
3-6 month clothes
rolling over
sitting up with very little assistance, sometimes non at all
scooting
your very own room
antibiotics and ear aches
father's blessings
the bouncer chair
more blonde than brown hair
facial expressions that are to die for
french fries
14 1/2 pounds
sucking your thumb at times
solid foods
knowing your mommy
and whining

Another month down...
