I Miss You Grammy....

Bette Jane Schnorenberg
Bette Jane Schnorenberg 1922 ~ 2009 , It is said every time a bell rings an angel gets her wings. A bell finally rang for Bette Schnorenberg on June 25th, 2009. With a caring heart, willing smile and firm resolve, this lovely lady gave over 86 years to those fortunate enough to be part of her life.Born on November 16, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana, Bette worked along side her parents and five siblings as they struggled through the Great Depression. Enlisting in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Bette provided hope to young soldiers as they departed for Europe to serve their country. Her constant love and companionship guided her husband of 40 years, four children, 13 foster children and eight grandchildren. Through her commitment to hard work she taught those she encountered to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives. Pursuing her chosen profession as a nurse, Bette comforted patients and their families for over 35 years, working at hospitals in Lusk, Wyoming and Bountiful, Utah. She completed her career, by once again serving her country by providing care to veterans at the Salt Lake City Veterans' Hospital. Bette's compassion and love for all she encountered gave reassurance to the residents and families at the Utah State Veterans' Nursing Home where she was a resident for more than a decade. Her husband and best friend Leslie Samuel Schnorenberg, son Rodney Schnorenberg, parents C. Clinton and Lillian May Morehouse, sister Patricia Morehouse and brothers Larry and Crawford Morehouse preceded her in death. Her daughters and their husbands, Cindius and Michael Romney, Carol and Edward Hunter, Carmen and James Hardy, her daughter-in-law Diane Schnorenberg, her grandchildren Bret, Leslie and Lance Schnorenberg, Cameron English, Lindsay Hunter, McKenzie and Joe Graham, J.C. and Austin Hardy, and her sisters Georgene Lee and Sally Ferneau would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Utah State Veterans' Nursing Home, the nurses and doctors of the Salt Lake Veterans' hospital and Paulette Ransom. These gracious individuals ensured Bette's final years were filled with the peace and dignity she had earned through a life of giving. Bette will be honored at a graveside service Monday, July 6th, 9:30 a.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Ut. The family would like to extend an invitation to those who had the honor of knowing and loving this lovely lady. In lieu of flowers, the family would cherish your memories and thoughts of Bette online at www.russonmortuary.com
